The exhibition Nomad Kyrgiz People on Tien Shan Mountains at IUS
An exhibition of photographs of Dr. Yavuz Özer entitled ''Nomad Kyrgiz People on Tien Shan Mountains'' was presented in the IUS Art Gallery, on Wednesday, February 18, 2015. Turkish artist, Yavuz Özer was born in 1979 in Denizli / Turkey. He graduated from the Faculty of Communication, Department of Cinema Television and works as an academician in departments of Cinema TV, in various Turkish universities since 2002.
IUS Rector, Prof. Dr. Yücel Oğurlu, professors, students, and other admirers of this kind of art attended the opening of the exhibition. They expressed great interest in the work of this young photographer. '' The photos were taken during my stay and research in Kyrgyzstan. The inspiration were the people and their freedom '' - said the author of the exhibition. Kyrgyzstan is a country of wildlife, free nomads and place that use to be an intersections of four routes of the great Silk Road. Today, nomadic influence remains strong, despite urbanization. Even nowdays many residents of this country continue to live in their yurts - traditional tents of nomadic shepherds.
